Almost one million PLN per season for Orlen Ekstraliga and Orlen 1. Liga clubs!
Exactly PLN 889,000 for one season alone shall be awarded in total to the clubs of the two highest divisions of women's football in Poland. This is more than half a million PLN more than before. The additional prize money is the result of the Polish Football Association's investment in women's football and the implementation of its recently adopted strategy.
A historic day. Women's football strategy officially unveiled
On Thursday (2 February), the Women's football strategy for 2022-26 was officially unveiled at PGE Narodowy. This is the first document of its kind in the history of Polish football, and its implementation and the fulfilment of its key objectives are expected to contribute to making the development of women's football in our country more dynamic.

On Thursday 2 February, at the PGE Narodowy, the Polish Football Association will present the "Women's football strategy in Poland for 2022-2026". This is the first such comprehensive document in the history of the association, setting out the goals and directions for women's football to influence its popularisation and development throughout the country.

"The last few weeks have been quite eventful for us. We had to make a very difficult choice, we devoted a lot of work to it, but today we have reached our goal. As the president of the Polish Football Association, I believe that we can afford to choose the best available head coach. As a federation, we are ready for that," said the president of the Polish national team, Cezary Kulesza, at the welcoming press conference of Polish national team coach Fernando Santos.
Fernando Santos appointed as the head coach of the Polish national team
On 24 January 2023, the Portuguese coach Fernando Santos was appointed as the new Polish national team head coach. The contract with the coach, who led the Portuguese national team to the 2016 European Championships, will last for the next two qualifying cycles - for the European and World Cups. "I firmly believe that the new head coach will bring a great deal of good to the national team and Polish football as a whole," said the president of thehe Polish Football Association, Cezary Kulesza.
Szymon Marciniak Named Best Referee in the World
Poland's best arbiter receives well-deserved laurels all the time. Recently, at the Champions of Sport Gala, he and his team received the "Super Achievement of the Year" award. Now the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has named Szymon Marciniak as the world's best referee for 2022.
