Zbigniew Boniek: In football, as in life, you need to build, not tear down
At a press conference, Zbigniew Boniek, president of the Polish Football Association, summarised the performance of the Polish national team in the European Championships. "We were hoping to get further, but we failed in terms of sports. We lacked quality. However, you could see that the team has changed, and after the tournament it was clear that the players could not give more of themselves," believes president Boniek.

Defeat against Sweden. EURO 2020 ends for Poland
Unfortunately, the worst-case scenario for the Polish national team in the last match of the group stage of UEFA EURO 2020 came true. After two goals scored by the Swedes, our team equalised after Robert Lewandowski scored a brace. The White and Reds fought hard, but it was Sweden who had the last word with a goal in additional time to make it 3:2. Poland finished last in Group E with one point and ends the UEFA EURO 2020 tournament.

Paulo Sousa: We will be even stronger and we'll achieve the results we deserve
"We are disappointed because we worked hard for our goals and as a team we deserved more. However, you can't achieve your goals when you concede goals in such a stupid way. But it's not just the defense's fault, it's simply the whole team needs to defend better, narrow the field, focus harder on the opponent. Nevertheless, I think that a lot has changed for the better in the Polish team," Polish national team coach Paulo Sousa said at the press conference after the game with Sweden.

A draw in Seville. The White and Reds are still in play!
A game between Poland and Spain in the second round of the group stage of the final tournament of UEFA EURO 2020 ended in a 1-1 draw. This result means that Paulo Sousa's players can still advance to the next stage of the competition.
