Piotr Zieliński: The ball is on our side

In a 2-0 win against the Faroe Islands, Piotr Zieliński donned the captain's armband of the Polish national team for the first time. Michał Probierz's team did what they were supposed to do, and once again the fate of promotion remains in their hands.  "We can certainly do it. The ball is on our side, once again we can only rely on ourselves. We need to take advantage of this," says the 85-time national representative in an interview with Łączy Nas Piłka.

Poland's national football team won its third victory in the qualification for the final tournament of next year's European Championships. Led for the first time by Michał Probierz, the team beat the Faroe Islands 2-0 in Thorshavn, with Sebastian Szymański and Adam Buksa scoring the goals. The Poles take on Moldova at home in their next qualifier on Sunday.

Michał Probierz has been officially presented as the new national head coach of the Polish national team. The just under 51-year-old coach has signed a contract for the duration of the 2024 European Championship qualifiers, as well as the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. "We have made a substantive analysis in recent days and I am convinced that this is the best possible choice. I congratulate the new coach and wish him good luck. Our goal is to advance to the European Championship in Germany," said Polish Football Association president Cezary Kulesza.
