Europa League: Ruch wins, Lech and Zawisza suffer defeats
In the second qualifying round of UEFA Europa League, Ruch Chorzow beat FC Vaduz 3:2. In other games Lech Poznań lost to JK Nõmme Kalju 0:1 and SV Zulte Waregem won with Zawisza Bydgoszcz 2:1. The only goalscorer for Zawisza was Kamil Drygas.
Legia draws in the first Champions League qualifier
Legia Warszawa drew with Saint Patrick's Athletic 1:1 in the first qualification match of UEFA Champions League campaign. Christy Fagan gave the Irishmen the lead, but Miroslav Radović's goal from the 90th minute poured some optimism into Polish champions' hearts before the rematch in Ireland.
2015 Europa League final in Warsaw – 10 months to the match
Another visit from UEFA officials concerning the organization of Europa League final in 2015 took place in Warsaw from 7th to 11th of July. It is the second biggest sporting event organized by UEFA in club football. The final will be a spectacular event promoting Warsaw and the National Stadium as the average ratings of the final exceed 60 million viewers. What is more, Europa League final is broadcasted to over 100 countries around the world.
Germany – New World Champions!
Germany won with Argenina 1:0 in 2014 World Cup final at Maracana in Rio de Janeiro. Mario Götze netted in the 113th minute of the game and secured a fourth championship title for Germany.
Bronze medal for the Netherlands
Netherlands beat Brazil 3:0 in a third place match of the 2014 World Cup. Goals for "Oranje" were scored by Robin van Persie, Daley Blind and Georginio Wijnaldum.
