Michał Probierz to remain head coach of the Polish national team

During a meeting with the team in Dortmund, President of the Polish Football Association Cezary Kulesza announced that Michał Probierz will continue in his role as the head coach of the Polish national team after the 2024 European Championships. "I would like to end all speculation and be the first to inform you that the head coach and his staff have the full support of the PZPN presidium. The decision was made earlier, but today I decided to make it official. Michał Probierz will continue to be the national team head coach", said Cezary Kulesza.

The president of the Polish Football Association showed up in the hotel housing the Polish national team immediately after breakfast. He was accompanied by representatives of the association's presidium, as well as Secretary General Łukasz Wachowski. Before 10 a.m. a meeting with the entire team took place. "We are with you for better or worse. You can expect our full support. At this tournament we did not manage to advance from the group, which we all hoped for, but we believe that together with the head coach Michał Probierz and his staff, we can still achieve a lot. Today, we want to perform at our best in the match against France. After that, autumn Nations League matches await us, and in December the draw for the World Cup qualifying groups. We continue to work together", said Cezary Kulesza.

Michał Probierz became the head coach of the Polish national team on 20 September 2023. The president and the board of the Polish Football Association set him one goal - to qualify for the final tournament of the European Championship in Germany. After the March play-offs against Estonia and Wales, the mission was accomplished.

The Polish national team managed by Michał Probierz played 10 matches: they won five, drew three and lost two of them. Regardless of the last match at Euro 2024 against France, the Polish national team have no chance of qualifying for the knockout stage of the tournament. However, there are further challenges ahead for the head coach and the team - the Nations League and the World Cup qualifiers.
