Paulo Sousa is the new head coach of the Polish National Team!
The Polish Football Association announces that Paulo Sousa, a Portugese coach and a former representative of his country, has been appointed as the new head coach of the Polish men's national football team. In the past, the 50-year-old coach worked with such teams as Leicester City, ACF Forentina or Girondins Bordeaux. He won the Israeli championship with Maccabi Tel Aviv, and with FC Basel - the championship of Switzerland.
- I am certain that thanks to his coaching class, experience and international savvy, the new head coach of the Polish National team will provide our team with a very much needed new impetus. I'm counting on him! All of us - the federation, the players and our entire football family - are at his disposal. Good Luck, Paulo! - said Zbigniew Boniek, the President of the Polish Football Association.
- I am honoured and proud that I can be the head coach of the Polish National Team. First and foremost, I would like to thank President Zbigniew Boniek and the entire Management Board for the fact that I can take on such a great challenge. Poland is a country of football and I am certain that your enthusiasm will provide us with strength, support and faith in the national team. Together, we will be able to fight for victories at the European Championships - said Paulo Sousa. - With the right mindset, discipline, organisation and the right attitude, together with me, my staff, the employees of the federation and the support of the entire nation, we will be strong. I am certain that the entire Poland will be proud of their national team - added the new head coach of the White-and-Reds.
