Record number of "From backyard to the stadium" Tournament
Record number of 140 000 young players will play in “From backyard to the stadium” Tournament in this year. It means that already a third of Polish ten-year take part in the competition. It’s one of the biggest tournament in Europe. Polish kids will fight for title of U-10 Champions and a special prize – trip for match of the team, which will win UEFA EURO 2012.
In this year 140 000 children from all over the country was signed up. It’s over 55 000 than last year. Only in the Malopolska region almost 14 000 children will play in Tymbark Cup.
The aim of this tournament is to identify the most talented players, make their dreams come true and also promotion of healthy lifestyle and physical activity. Therefore, the tournament has been a one of the most important item in the calendar of events coaches, teachers and children.
2012 year promises to be very interesting, not only because of the football festival, which will be the European Championships.
First matches of tournament will start in April at the stage of the municipal and district. Then the winning teams will face off in one of 16 regional finals, which begin on 14 May. The best teams from each region will take part in the semifinals, where they compete for promotion to the Grand Final.
