A course for goalkeeping coaches has begun at PZPN Coaching School

On Tuesday, in the PZPN Coaching School, located in the area of the Academy of Physical Education in Biała Podlaska, the training course for the coaches of goalkeepers - Goalkeeper UEFA A began. In this matter, we are pioneers, because similar trainings started only in a few other European countries, including Denmark, Norway and Scotland, some time ago. As previously there was no such specialisation, many applicants for the course applied.

The number of places is limited. The following surnames appeared on the list of participants of the course: Młynarczyk, Kowalewski, Tkocz, Dowhań, Woźniak, Jankowski, Dreszer and Onyszko. The inaugural lecture in Biała Podlaska was attended by the legendary Pat Bonner, a former Celtic goalkeeper, and today the man who shares his knowledge throughout Europe.

"You can see that he is a man with a different mentality," noted Arkadiusz Onyszk. That's for sure, but he is also a man who can pay attention to details that seem obvious. "Imagine a situation where your third choice goalkeeper is injured. Do you have in mind a list of possible successors available on the market?" he asked. "I have such a list made before the season," replied one of the participants. " Well, but do you upgrade it? Can you use it at any time?" inquired Bonner.

The former representative of Ireland met several course participants, including Józef Mlynarczyk. “I remember you once played in Dublin! You were catching all the crosses! All of them!” Bonner praised the former national team goalie.

Pat Bonner will stay in Biała Podlaska until Wednesday. In addition to the lecture, he will attend the lessons conducted by educators from the PZPN Coaching School. One of them is Andrzej Dawidziuk, known for his work for the Polish national football team, Lech Poznań and the famous school in Szamotuły. Dawidziuk is also a course participant. It sounds a little absurd. "Of course, but this is normal." Dariusz Pasieka, the Deputy Director of the PZPN Coaching School, explains to us. After a moment, he explains: “We asked this question to UEFA and got a simple answer: who is to educate, since formally no one in Europe is educated in this direction?”

Andrzej Dawidziuk was the sole originator of the whole project and it seems that the goal was achieved owing to the combined forces. Now, it is a fact that there is such a thing as the Polish School for Goalkeepers, confirms Pat Bonner. Now is the time for the Polish School for the Coaches of Goalkeepers.
