The Launch of PZPN+: The Digital Home of Polish Football
PZPN+ will bring together live broadcasts, a match archive, highlights, statistics and video content – from the national teams to regional competitions. The platform will provide fans with easy and free access to content, and clubs with new tools for promotion, analysis and development. The first competition to be fully featured on PZPN+ will be the ORLEN Women's Ekstraliga. And that starts this weekend, from the very first round!
One Platform for the Whole of Polish Football
PZPN+ is a shared digital infrastructure for Polish football that will support coaching, promotion, marketing, development and the visibility of competitions, clubs and players, as well as performance analysis and the creation of new business models. Thanks to this platform, every match will become not only a sporting event, but also a source of data, video content and new commercial opportunities.
"The launch of PZPN+ is one of the most important moments in the digital transformation of the Polish Football Association. We are creating a solution that will change the way Polish football operates and is perceived – both by fans and by the wider football community. It is a groundbreaking project because, for the first time, we are building a shared infrastructure that will serve the national teams, competitions, clubs and the Regional Football Associations. I am convinced that in the years ahead PZPN+ will become one of the foundations of Polish football's development," said Adam Kaźmierczak, Vice-President for Organisational and Financial Affairs of the Polish Football Association.
PZPN+ will bring together broadcasts, video content, archives, competitions, clubs and – ultimately – the entire digital ecosystem of Polish football in one place. The platform is intended to allow fans to follow Polish football at every level – from the Poland national teams to central competitions to regional and local football.
"Alongside the new VAR Centre, PZPN+ is one of the most vital digital projects currently being delivered by the Polish Football Association. Our goal is to create a single place where fans can follow Polish football at every level – from the national teams to central competitions to regional and youth football. We are starting with the ORLEN Women's Ekstraliga because we want to give it even greater visibility and accessibility for fans across the country. We believe modern technologies should support the development of the entire football community: clubs, coaches, female and male players, and the fan base," said Łukasz Wachowski, Secretary General of the Polish Football Association.
Starting with the ORLEN Women's Ekstraliga
The ORLEN Women's Ekstraliga will be the first competition launched under the new model. And that's from the very first round of this season, starting this weekend! The competition will become a space for implementing modern technologies, such as automated television production based on artificial intelligence, new broadcast standards and a refreshed visual identity. Fans will be able to watch every match in every round!
From day one of PZPN+, fans will have free access to live broadcasts, replays and the archive of ORLEN Women's Ekstraliga matches. The platform will be gradually expanded with further features, including personalised content, club and competition profiles, match highlights, statistics, additional materials and broadcasts of more competitions.
Every Match for the Fans
"As part of PZPN+, we are building the digital home of Polish football, where fans will have access to live broadcasts, match archives, highlights, additional materials and content related to clubs and competitions. Thanks to the implementation of the Spiideo camera system, we can significantly increase the scale of broadcast production while maintaining a consistent production standard. Yet, the same infrastructure offers far more than streaming alone – it supports performance analysis and the work of coaching staffs, makes it possible to create video content for clubs and their marketing departments, and in the future may support the development of statistics, the automatic creation of highlights, or the international distribution of content via League Exchange. Our goal is to create an ecosystem that will increase the visibility of Polish clubs and competitions, give fans access to content they could not previously watch, and create new sporting, media and business opportunities for the entire football community," said Tomasz Flakowski, Head of Digital Innovation at the Polish Football Association and Product Owner of PZPN+.
Benefits for Clubs
PZPN+ will increase the visibility of clubs, players and entire competitions, providing them with a new channel for promotion and communication with fans. The project will also create a foundation for future monetisation models and new opportunities for cooperation with partners and sponsors.
Clubs will gain professional broadcasts, bringing higher viewing figures and greater recognition for the competitions. In turn, the clubs' sporting departments will gain access to analytical resources that make the work of coaches and coaching staffs easier, while media departments will be able to use ready-made highlights, goals and other video materials for publication on social media and club channels. The new infrastructure will also support the marketing activities of clubs and of the competitions as a whole.
This is Just the Beginning
The launch of PZPN+ is the first stage in building a shared digital ecosystem for Polish football. In the coming months, the platform will be expanded with further competitions, new features and integration with the mPZPN app, creating one place for all participants in and fans of Polish football.
