A Historic Media Day for the Women’s ORLEN Ekstraliga

For the first time in the league’s history, representatives from all twelve clubs met for a joint photoshoot, which will form the basis of the promotional communication for the 2026/2027 season. This unique project was carried out in the picturesque Botanical Garden of the University of Warsaw.

The session involved twelve players – one representative from each Women’s ORLEN Ekstraliga club. The majority of them serve as captains for their respective teams on a daily basis. The meeting was an opportunity not only to take official photos promoting the competition but also to produce marketing materials that will be used throughout the upcoming season.

"Monday's session at the University of Warsaw Botanical Garden was a very valuable experience. The entire event was organised in a professional yet relaxed atmosphere, which helped us feel at ease in front of the camera. The unique scenery of the garden perfectly highlighted the character of the shoot and will certainly translate into the final result. I am glad that I could take part in this project. I hope that initiatives of this kind will promote women's football in our country", said Paulina Filipczak, captain of Grot SMS Łódź.

A unique setting for a unique project

The main location for the shoot was Rose Garden – one of the most distinctive parts of the University of Warsaw Botanical Garden. A special place there is occupied by Polish rose varieties bred after the Second World War by Leopold Grąbczewski, Bolesław Wituszyński, and Stanisław Żyła, including, among others, the Chopin, Merkury, Kutno, and Warszawa varieties. It was these that created an exceptional backdrop for the shoot, combining the beauty of Polish nature with the development of women's football.

"The session in the picturesque University of Warsaw Botanical Garden had a unique atmosphere. The entire event took place in a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. There was no shortage of laughter, conversations, and opportunities to get to know the personal side of players from other teams. of players from other teams. I hope this becomes a permanent feature before every season”, said Natalia Piątek, captain of GKS Górnik Łęczna.

Materials for the entire season

The first-ever league Media Day was one of the activities carried out as part of the promotion of the Women’s ORLEN Ekstraliga.

"The session is another project within the Women's Football Strategy in Poland for 2022–2026, where one of the priorities is image and visibility. Within a few hours, we carried out a series of marketing activities with the female players. I am glad that we managed to get everyone together – this allowed us to prepare promotional materials for the entire upcoming Women’s ORLEN Ekstraliga season", emphasised Bartłomiej Stolarz, PZPN Club Development and Promotion Coordinator.

The results of the session will be successively used in the Women’s ORLEN Ekstraliga communications throughout the 2026/2027 season. The competitions will commence on 31 July, and in the opening match, the Polish champions – Czarni Antrans Sosnowiec – will face Grot SMS Łódź.

The Media Day was based on the „Women's Football Strategy in Poland for 2022-2026" and the „UEFA HatTrick VI” programme („UEFA Women's League Development Fund” project).
