A New Symbol of the Championship. The Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet Has Its Own Trophy
During the first-ever Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet Gala, the new Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet Trophy was officially presented. The unique trophy, which from the 2025/26 season is the symbol of the Polish championship, has already been presented for the very first time to Czarni Antrans Sosnowiec – the best team of the recently concluded season.
The Polish Football Association (PZPN) has unveiled the new, dedicated Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet Trophy. The official public unveiling of the trophy took place on 1 June 2026 during the inaugural Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet Gala. Two days earlier, on 30 May, the trophy was presented for the first time to the Polish champions – the players of Czarni Antrans Sosnowiec.
From the 2025/26 season onwards, the new trophy is the symbol of winning the Polish women's championship. Its unveiling and inaugural presentation represent yet another step in the development of women's football in Poland, underscoring the growing prestige of the Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet.
"We want the Polish women's championship to have a ceremonial setting and prestige that correspond to the ambitions of the players, the clubs, and the entire football community. I am convinced that this trophy will become a dream for future generations of female players and will highlight the exceptional nature of the achievement that is winning the title of Polish Women's Champions," said PZPN President Cezary Kulesza.
Studio Renes is responsible for the trophy's design. The creators opted for a form that not only rewards sporting success but also tells the story of the team, their collective hard work, and the path leading to the top.
The most distinctive element of the trophy is its eleven upward-pointing arms. They symbolise the eleven players who make up a team – diverse personalities, experiences, and stories united by a common goal. The arms rise from a common base, serving as a metaphor for the dressing room, mutual trust, and the daily hard work of the entire club.
The dynamic silhouette of the trophy is intended to reflect the journey to the championship – the successive matches, challenges, and moments that make up the team's success. The open crown, in turn, symbolises the fact that winning the title does not end the story, but rather opens a new chapter and new ambitions.
The designers also paid close attention to details referencing the specific nature of women's football. The tapering of the form accentuates a combination of strength and elegance, while the distinctive breaks in the form symbolise the breaking down of barriers and stereotypes, as well as the fight for the development of the sport. Furthermore, the openwork structure allows a club scarf or sash to be woven into the trophy, ensuring that during the trophy presentation, the trophy itself becomes a part of the history of that specific championship-winning team.
"We wanted to create a form that – even without words – tells the story of the team: that the championship is the sum of individualities, the hard work of the entire squad, and the courage to dream more boldly than others," emphasises a representative of Studio Renes.
The new Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet Trophy was crafted from brass using artistic casting techniques, and subsequently finished with a chrome coating. The trophy weighs approximately 15 kilograms. Each piece undergoes a process of moulding, casting, hand-finishing, and thorough quality control, making it a combination of modern technology and craftsmanship.
The first club to write itself into the history of the new trophy was Czarni Antrans Sosnowiec – the Polish champions of the 2025/26 season. From now on, the trophy will be awarded annually to the best team in the Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet, becoming one of the most important symbols of women's football in Poland.
