October proved to be a successful month for Poland’s youth national teams. Five men’s squads took part in both qualification matches and friendly tournaments, while the team led by Jerzy Brzęczek made another step towards qualification for the European Championships. Important fixtures were also played by other sides, including the Poland Women’s Under-17 team, which fought for progression to the next stage of the qualifying competition. How did the Polish side perform during their October training camps?

Poland national under-17 football team

Following their participation in September’s Syrenka Cup, the Poland under-17 team began their European Championship qualifying campaign. Drawn into a three-team group with Germany and Luxembourg, the Poles faced tough opposition. The opening match did not go according to plan for coach Piotr Kobierecki’s side, as Poland were defeated 1–4 by Germany. The team’s only goal was scored by Zachary Zalewski. The decisive fixture for qualification came against Luxembourg. The Polish side struggled for a long time to break down their opponents’ defence, but eventually found the winner late in the match – Hubert Smyrak scored the decisive goal, securing Poland’s place in the next round of the qualifiers.

Poland national under-18 football team

During the October training camp, the Poland national under-18 team, coached by Radosław Sobolewski, played two friendly matches in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain. The Poles faced their counterparts from Ireland and the Netherlands. In the first match, Poland defeated Ireland 2–0, with goals from Filip Skorb and Jakub Zawadzki. Two days later, the team recorded another victory, beating the Netherlands 2–1. Filip Skorb once again found the net, while Mateusz Lauryn added the second goal.

Poland national under-19 football team

The Poland national under-19 team, coached by Łukasz Sosin, took part in a friendly tournament held in Croatia. The Polish side opened the competition with a goalless draw against the hosts. In their second match, Sosin’s team secured a 1–0 victory over Denmark, thanks to a goal scored in a second-half by Mateusz Książek. In their final fixture in Zagreb, Poland defeated Turkey 1–0, with the decisive goal coming from an own goal by the opposing goalkeeper. This tournament served as the final test before the upcoming European Championship qualifiers in November. In the qualifying round, the Polish under-19 team will face Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, and Italy, with the tournament taking place in the latter country.

Poland national under-20 football team

The Poland under-20 team, led by Miłosz Stępiński, played one match in October as part of the Elite League competition. Their opponents were Switzerland, and the Polish side delivered an excellent performance, winning convincingly 4–1. Goals for Poland came from Marcel Kalemba, Wojciech Urbański, and Szymon Bartlewicz, who scored twice. In November, Stępiński’s team will continue their Elite League campaign with a match against the Czech Republic.

Poland national under-21 football team

The Poland under-21 team, led by coach Jerzy Brzęczek, continues to impress. After earning six points in their September fixtures against North Macedonia (2–0) and Armenia (4–0), the team maintained their perfect record in October with two more victories. First, Poland defeated Montenegro 2–0 in Katowice, with goals from Antoni Kozubal and Oskar Pietuszewski. A few days later, the team produced an outstanding display in Sweden, securing a 6–0 win. Tomasz Pieńko netted a hat-trick, while Kacper Urbański, Antoni Kozubal, and Marcel Krajewski also found the target. In November, Brzęczek’s side face a crucial European Championship qualifier against Italy.

Poland women's national under-17 football team

The Poland women’s national under-17 team competed in the European Championship qualifying tournament in October, finishing the campaign with progression to the next round. The team began with an impressive 9–0 victory over Montenegro. In their second match, Poland faced England and, despite leading 2–1, were narrowly defeated 2–3. However, they finished the tournament in style, beating Scotland 5–0 in their final fixture. Thanks to these results, the Polish under-17 team advanced to the next phase of qualification.
