Cezary Kulesza named the most influential figure in Polish football
On Wednesday, the first-ever ranking of the Most Influential People in Polish Football, compiled by the research company Pentagon Research, was announced. The President of the Polish Football Association, Cezary Kulesza, was ranked first. Second place went to the owner and President of Legia Warsaw, Dariusz Mioduski, while third place was taken by the Secretary General of the PZPN, Łukasz Wachowski.
"I would like to congratulate all those who were recognised in the ranking. Thank you very much for this distinction. I do not consider myself the most important figure in Polish football, as I see this award as recognition for the entire association, and it rightly belongs to all the employees of the Polish Football Association", commented President Kulesza on the distinction bestowed by Pentagon Research.
Among those also recognised in the ranking were former head coach of the men’s national team Michał Probierz (9th place), Vice President of PZPN for Organisational and Financial Affairs Henryk Kula (10th place), Member of the PZPN Management Board and President of Lech Poznań Karol Klimczak (11th place), Sporting Director of the PZPN Marcin Dorna (15th place), Chairman of the PZPN Referees Committee Tomasz Mikulski (20th place), and Vice President of PZPN for Professional Football Wojciech Cygan (21st place).
The ranking was announced at the Legia Warsaw stadium. The event was accompanied by panel discussions, one of which featured the Secretary General of the Polish FA, Łukasz Wachowski.
"Globally, we are perceived as a modern organisation.," emphasised Łukasz Wachowski. "We host finals and matches at the highest level, such as the UEFA Super Cup in Warsaw in 2024 and the UEFA Europa Conference League final in Wrocław in 2025. It’s a broad topic, of course, but the core of our focus remains on the matches played by the national team and our regular presence at major international tournaments, such as the European Championship and the World Cup," added the Secretary General of the PZPN.
