UEFA visited Wrocław. Second working meeting ahead of the 2025 UEFA Conference League final
On 7-10 October 2024, the second working visit of a UEFA delegation took place, related to the preparations for the 2025 UEFA Conference League Final, which will take place at the Tarczyński Arena stadium in Wrocław on 28 May 2025. It will be one of the biggest football events in Europe in 2025.
During the visit key meetings were held with representatives of UEFA, the Polish Football Association and Stadion Wrocław, the stadium's operator. The meetings were also attended by representatives of the City of Wrocław, the Marshal's Office, the Police, Fire Brigade and Wrocław Airport. The programme included not only discussions on the organisation of the finals, but also visits to potential Fan Meeting Points and Fan Festival locations, as well as to the airports in Wrocław and Poznań, highlighting the importance of logistics preparations for the event.
From the 2024/25 season, the structure of the UEFA competition has also changed. The former UEFA Europa Conference League has been renamed the UEFA Conference League. A new format was introduced, with the group stage replaced by a league stage and the number of teams increased from 32 to 36, with each team playing six matches against opponents drawn from different pots. The league stage kicked off at the beginning of October, and in this edition of the competition, Poland is represented by two teams: Jagiellonia Białystok and Legia Warszawa, who opened with victories. The visit in October was the second in a series of working meetings that will be crucial to the preparations for the final. The next visit is scheduled for November 2024.
The organisation of the meetings and the coordination of the project is handled by the Department of Event Organisation, Sefety and Infrastructure of the PZPN, which works closely with UEFA to ensure the highest level of organisation of this unique event.
