Poland to host the UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship in 2025
The UEFA Executive Committee at Wednesday's meeting decided to grant Poland the right to host the UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship final tournament of 2025. Originally, the competition was to be held in Belarus.
In this age category, eight national teams are competing for the title of European champion. The UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship has been held since 1998. The most successful team in the competition history is the Germany women's national team, who have won the title six times. The Polish national team has only participated in the final tournament once – in 2007, Poland finished fourth in their group, behind England, France and Spain. The next UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship will be played from 18 to 30 July in Belgium.
Poland will organise the final tournament of the UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship for the first time in its history. The participants will be divided into two four-team groups, from which the first- and second-placed teams will advance to the semi-finals. These teams will also secure their participation in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. The tournament will be played in July 2025 at four venues, with a maximum capacity of 10,000, which will be selected after consultation with UEFA.
