Replay your memories. Library of Polish Football has been launched!
Years of arduous work, including gathering and archiving materials. Collecting videos, graphics, and fun facts. And here it is! From 16th October 2019 Polish national team fans can use the Library of Polish Football for free. All White-and-Reds' matches, highlights, and many, many more – are available only on the special platform. From now on, the entire football is in just one place!
"The Library of Polish Football is one of the best football-related projects carried out by PZPN. We worked long and silently in order to create something wonderful- an encyclopaedia of Polish football. We have the most important Polish national team matches, highlights, fun facts and newspaper clippings.” says Zbigniew Boniek, the President of the Polish Football Association.
The Library of Polish Football started, like in a good film library, from reminding canons. From Polish national team matches which everyone should know and watch. Games that bring generations together. For older ones: feelings and emotions that accompanied the “winning” draw on Wembley 1973, that started a march of “Kazimierz Górski Eagles” to the third place in the world, it’s an important part of life. Also five goals that Antoni Piechniczek’ s team scored in the second half of the match with Peru in WC 1982. That’s an unforgettable taste of the past. Just like the taste of bananas and oranges which were deficit products in Poland in 70’s and 80’s. For younger the memorable moment of their football life was the first in history match won with Germany that was achieved by Adam Nawałka’ s team. On that October’s evening on PGE National Stadium the Lewandowski, Krychowiak, Glik generation believed that they can make a reference to the old triumphs. That adventure finished for them in the Euro 2016 quarterfinals.
None of European football associations can boast of such a broad and developed library. "Our project is unique in Europe. Nobody has such comprehensive multimedia resources revealing the history of football in a given country. That is why there was nobody to follow, so the entire project had to be developed from scratch – starting from the idea and ending up with the final product. Many thanks go to TVP and Polsat, in particular to Director Marek Szkolnikowski and Director Marian Kmita. They helped us perform hard and arduous work in order to obtain materials from archives. We are United by Football," concludes Maciej Sawicki.
The Library of Polish Football has been divided into several tabs so that all White-and-Reds' fans can find something that suits them. Available are: Matches, Chronicles, Recommended Multimedia, and Video Collection. All is available for free at www.laczynaspilka.pl/biblioteka. You only need an account on our website to use it.
