Zbigniew Boniek: I missed the Poland national team

I missed the Poland national team. We played our last matches in November last year. First, we beat Iceland 4:2 at the National Stadium in Warsaw, and then in Wroclaw we won 3:1 against the Czech Republic. An excellent finish to a great year, crowned by us qualifying to Euro. We have achieved our goal and we will play in the tournament in France. No-one remembers about the successful qualification, however. We are caught in the future and in the preparations for Euro 2016.

In March we will face Serbia in Poznan and Finland in Wroclaw. I warmly welcome both national teams and their fans and wish them a pleasant stay in Poland.

Both our rivals are great teams. We appreciate their abilities as well as their fighting spirit and uncompromising attitude. Poland national team will have an excellent opportunity to present themselves against strong opponents. These are the kinds of matches we need to prepare ourselves for Euro in France well. Winning against Serbia and Finland is not the most important. Sure, we would like to win every match, but right now preparing for Euro as best we can is the most critical for us. We have a concrete plan of preparations. We took care of every detail. The national will want for nothing. I am confident that head coach Adam Nawałka along with his staff will put in every effort so that we can be proud of our national team. So right now let us allow them to work at their own pace.

I wish all great excitement during the matches against Serbia and Finland! Have fun!
