Europa League final in 2015 is ours!
UEFA Executive Comittee decided that Poland will host the Europa League Final in 2015. – It is our great success – said Zbigniew Boniek, president of Polish Football Association. Boniek, along with Maciej Sawicki, general secretary of PFA, went to London where UEFA Congress is taking place.
– I don’t think I have to say how important and prestigious this event is. It is a great way of promoting Polish Football Association, the city of Warsaw, our country, our culture and society. In order to be awarded with the opportunity to host the final of Europa League in 2015, one needs to gain a great amount of trust from UEFA managerial body. Especially as we have recently hosted Euro 2012. Three years after the success of Euro we will organize Europa League Final in 2015. – Zbigniew Boniek commented UEFA’s choice.
– Polish Football Association did a really great job. We have worked very hard to present our candidature to UEFA in the best way possible. I would like to thank everyone who participated in this project. – added the president of Polish Football Association.
It is important to add that Poland have never hosted any European cup final before.
